The KU team has developd a new map symbol schema for landmines, minefields, and mine actions. The new symbols have been implemented in the latest version of IMSMA and are being promoted as a world standard. The GICHD and American Geographical Society (AGS) recently sponsored workshops in New York, New York and Reston, Virginia to promulgate the symbols with major mapping agencies, GIS vendors, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).

The complete humanitarian demining schema may be downloaded below and may be utilized in software that uses True Type fonts. Instructions are provided for using the symbology in ESRI's ArcGIS software. Example maps and data for ArcGIS are also provided
