Bio:MICHA ESPINOSA is Assistant Professor of Voice and Acting for the School of Theatre and Film at Arizona State University. She holds a BFA degree from Stephens College and an MFA from the University of California, San Diego. With 10 years as a workshop presenter, she has taught voice, speech and movement workshops nationally and internationally including: Japan, Canada, Mexico, and Chile. She is a member of AFTRA and SAG and has performed in film, television, commercials, and regional theatre. She is also a certified yoga instructor with extensive Feldenkrais training. She is an associate teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework and a trainer for the Fitzmaurice Voicework Teacher Certification Program. She has served as an officer in Voice and Speech Trainers Association (since 2000), an associate editor for the International Dialects of English Archive (since 2000), and has published in the Voice and Speech Review and the Journal for Intergroup Relations (2005). Her research and scholarship examines and contextualizes the current climate with the training of actors of non-dominant groups. She is passionate about social justice in actor training.
