Today we added our eighth sample from Ontario, contributed by Marina Tyndall. We also added 23 orthographic transcriptions, contributed by Jacqueline Baker. They are: Argentina 1 & 4; Brazil 3; Chile 1 -3; Peru 1; Texas 4 & 6-13; Virginia 1-5; and West Virginia 1. These bring Jacqueline's total number of transcriptions to an astonishing 147! Thanks to her Herculean efforts, and of her fellow transcriptionists, a mere 40 samples are left untranscribed. Many thanks to Jacqueline and the others.

Today is the end of an era: Shawn Muller, who was the guiding genius behind the design of the website in 1997, is stepping down from his position as Webmaster after more than ten years devoted service to IDEA. He will however, continue as Technical Advisor, and as Associate Editor for Kansas and Holocaust Survivors. Thank you Shawn, for all you have done to make IDEA one the world's leading dialect research websites!
