A jack of all trades would be the best way to describe it. Ah, the official title is Compliance and Marketing Officer for a, a small community bank, ah, one of the rare, ah—ah, parts of the, the banking industry anymore. But, um, that includes keeping up with the federal and state regulations an’ implementing those. But it also involves ah, the operational side of the bank an’ also doing the training, ah, for that and then to get a little more on the creative side I do the marketing for the bank which ah, invoo—involves the advertising as well as, ah, new product promotions which I’ve had a lot of fun with that over the years. My grandmother, who is now eighty-eight years old, had a dream to see all fifty states, and in fact her fiftieth state was the state of Alaska. And she took, ah, my younger brother and myself along for that, ah, final state an’ that began to, um, create a desire in me to see all fifty states. But, being a political science major, ah, an’ enjoying government an’ having worked in Washington DC for a summer, ah, it created a d-des, desire not only to see all fifty states but also to see all fifty states’ capitol buildings, supreme court buildings, if they were separate from the capitol building, as well as the governors’ mansions, and it has really been, um, a real blessing over the years, ah, to do that. The people that we’ve been able to meet, particularly at the governors’ mansions, um, an’ the different architectures, the, um different things that were important to each state, an’ the pride that each, um, state has for these particular buildings, it jus’ really has been a real joy to do that and having just reached the halfway mark, having finished touring the twenty-fifth capitol an’ looking forward to finishing the thirty-first state, ah, on a vacation here in two-thousand and two.
