Levant data sets:

Folder containing CAMEO-coded events (N=153,934 in original ; N= 138,004 after duplicate filtering); coverage is April 1979 to June 2008. TABARI coding dictionaries are also included. Source is Reuters. This version of the data uses ISO-3166 ALPHA-3 country codes and CAMEO sub-state actor coding conventions, and was coded using the latest version of TABARI (0.6.3B7), so at present it is our best version of the Levant data. TABARI coding dictionaries are also included.

Folder containing WEIS-coded events (N=190,784); coverage is April 1979 to March 2005. TABARI coding dictionaries are also included. This version of the data uses ISO-3166 ALPHA-3 country codes and CAMEO sub-state actor coding conventions, so a number of the codes are quite different than those used in earlier Levant data sets. It combines Reuters and AFP sources; there is a fairly serious discontinuity where the sources switch.

Folder containing tab-delimited text files of weekly totals of WEIS-coded events (N=201,771) by major event type -- verbal cooperation, material cooperation, verbal conflict, and material conflict -- for the following dyads: USA-ISR, USA-PAL, ISR-PAL and ISR-LEB. Coverage is April 1979 to December 2004. Count_Type.c program source code is also included.
