Ann Cudd's c.v.
I am currently working on two book projects. One is a co-authored book with Nancy Holmstrom of Rutgers University, entitled Capitalism For and Against: A Feminist Debate, for Cambridge University Press. The second is a book on intercultural intervention that is at an earlier stage of development.
I am also working on papers on the social science of domestic violence statistics, and on analytic feminist political philosophy.
My book on the material and psychological causes of oppression, Analyzing Oppression, was published by Oxford University Press in April 2006. You can see a description of the book here.
Feminist Philosophy: The Big Questions, co-edited with Robin Andreasen, was published by Blackwell Publishing in Dec. 2004. You can see a description of the book here.
Theorizing Backlash: Philosophical Reflections on the Resistance to Feminism, which I co-edited with Anita Superson, was published by Rowman and Littlefield in June, 2002. Read a description of it here.
My other research interests include liberalism, democratic theory, globalization, philosophy of social science, particulary economics, and rational choice theory.
I teach courses in philosophy of science and social science, feminist theory, rational choice theory and introduction to social and political philosophy. I have taught seminars in rationality, history and philosophy of economics, personal identity, anti-foundational epistemology, common knowledge, and feminism and the ideal of equality, and the philosophy of John Stuart Mill.
