Requests for attention from the Computing Staff must be sent to the Helpdesk. A response to all requests will be made as soon as possible. All requests will be handled on a first come, first served basis, with the exceptions to emergencies:

  1. A network problem that makes the network, server, or crucial portion unavailable to everyone connected to the network, including computer labs, classrooms, faculty and staff.
  2. A technical problem in a classroom which is disrupting a single ongoing class.
  3. A network or server problem that disrupts or makes unavailable one or more important network services that affect everyone on the network, e.g. a problem with MS office.
  4. A network or server problem that affects a significant number of users, but not all, in priority order based on how many users are affected.
  5. Individual client computer problems, whether faculty or staff. Priority depends on whether the entire computer is down, just one program isn't working, or whether the user is facing deadlines and how "mission critical" the deadlines are.
  6. New computer installations, in order received.
