Internet Resources
(For online information about traditional library resources, click here.)
This is best described as "a list of lists". The following are links to other sites on the World Wide Web that provide access to a huge and growing assortment of resources on the Internet for learning more about archaeology and anthropology. Please note that these other sites are located on servers around the world and are the work of individuals who are in no way affiliated with the University of Kansas. If you have questions or comments about these resources, please direct them to the individual webmasters of these sites.
The
leading source for archaeology on the World Wide Web.
Links to the Past - A resource on archaeology from the U.S. National Park Service, including links such as Tools for Teaching, information for students and teachers.
Glossary of Archaeological Terms - You'll get farther if you know the vocabulary (an excellent study guide).
Anthropology Resources on the Internet - Allen "Alleycat" Lutins' master page. This is the most comprehensive list of links, newsgroups, and listservers I have ever seen. (Allen is also a former student of mine!)
Anthropological Resources on the World Wide Web - Anita Cohen-Williams' master page. Another great list!
Native American Archaeology Resources on the Internet - A huge list of links.
Ancient World Web - An enormous and excellent list of of resources about ancient times from Julia Hayden.
Cool Web Sites - Like the title says! A great list maintained by John Kantner for the Dept. of Anthropology at the University of California-Santa Barbara. A very cool page for all types of anthropology.
Comprehensive List of Archaeological Links - This is a LONG list, handily assembled by Lorelei Siegloff.
Anthropology, Archaeology, and Egyptology Links - a nice and well-maintained list with links for archaeology and specifically ancient Egypt, with some links for the Inca and Maya civilizations. Brought to you by J.C. Paulson and the SPHINX group at The Millennium Matters homepage (have you noticed how archaeology always winds up near New Age stuff in bookstores...?) Just be sure to approach "alternative theory" with an inquiring mind!
Archaeology - A list of links from the library at the University of Arizona.
