My grandfather was an orphan who was born in Taiwan and taken by somebody to mainland China later. And, well, my grandmother, my maternal one, uh, came from an affluent family in Changzhou. Yeah, I consider myself a native of Changzhou because I was raised there although I was born in Nanjing. Uh, Changzhou is about er a hundred and sixty kilometers to the west from Shanghai and uh I can speak Mandarin and the dialect of Changzhou. Uh, if you know, uh, I mean, Professor Yuen-Ren Chao came from the same place. So, I guess it’s the right time to say something: [speaks in Chinese: Hello, everybody. I’m from Changzhou. Today I’m going to speak some Changzhou dialect. Uh, I plan to visit the new zoo to have some fun. Watch all kinds of animals. I’m give you my photos later. That’s it.] So that’s it. Bye!
