Born in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Also raised in Shenyang, Changchun, Shenzhen, and Lawrence, KS. Began learning English in 2000 from Chinese schooling and picking various things up while living in America for the past two years.
TRANSCRIPTION OF UNSCRIPTED SPEECH: Umm, I was born in uhh mainland China. It’s uhh in uhh kind of industry town and moving to southern China. For like when I was nine years old and uhh after I finished my high school I came to United States to keep on going on my college which is kind of fun. And uhh miss Chris here uh we play basketball a lot. I believe he’s really good player. And uhh the most uh the advantage he has is he’s really tall and really really strong. Umm My father is uhh kind of uhh university professor. Umm now he’s uhh vice president of umm some kind of university and my mom runs a kindergarten so which makes me uhh pretty proud of my education. Um I don’t have any brother and sisters uh mainly because the uh one child policy in China. So basically no family have uh more than one child. (Recording of Chinese language) 今天晚上下午三点钟我开始睡觉然后一觉睡到六点钟这样子每天就可以睡二十个小时这样对大脑比较好。 It basically says umm I sleep from 3pm to 6pm and umm so that I…I sleep like twenty hours today. Umm enough sleeping is good to your brain. That’s about it.
