North Carolina Eight - Transcription
Me and a bunch of my friends went...uh...it was actually during Spring Break, with our baseball team,
went down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and...uh...played in a baseball tournament there...um...with
our, with our school baseball team and we stayed in a hotel on the, on the strip on Ocean Avenue.
Um...it was a wild hotel. It was cheap, was why we stayed in it. And, um, we, uh, started partying
one night after a game and went out on the strip and walked around and mingled with all the people.
Um, about ten or eleven blocks north of where we were, a big fight broke out in the streets, and, uh,
we, we started, we were going to jump in and just mess around in it, but, uh, one of our friends came
running up and said that we had to get back to the hotel, uh, cause the police came and, uh, found a
bunch of beer in one, in some of the hotel rooms. And so, we went back and, you know, we were underage.
We was just stupid high school kids and we went back and talked to the police and said, you know,
we were there with our baseball team and we were just goofing around and he, he handcuffed a couple
of us, uh, to teach us a lesson, kind of. And handcuffed us real tight and none of us had ever been
handcuffed before. And, you know, backed us up on the wall and made us empty our pockets and so forth
and so on. And so we did and then he, he kind of, he took the cuffs off at the end of his little
speech about beer, liquor, and stuff and he took the cuffs off of us and just left, without, you know,
saying, without giving us any trouble because he couldn't really do anything since our coach called him
and he didn't find us. So, uh, so the next morning we just got up and went down to the beach and played
baseball and learned a little lesson about, uh, drinking and going to Myrtle Beach, too.
