Wisconsin Three - Text

Subject is white female, late 30's, life-long resident of Burlington, WI. She is a teacher's aide. The interview was recorded by Cynthia Blaise on 8/13/99 and edited by Paul Meier on 9/26/99. You will hear a tense fronted vowel in 'arch', 'part' with strong 'r' coloration; a much closer than GenAm vowel in 'rain', 'day' etc.; but not such a close vowel as wisconsin2 in 'drop', 'hospital' etc. This could be a generational difference. 2:45secs.
