I was born in Brasilia, Brazil. (Um) I am 21 years old. I love soccer. My girlfriends call me a monkey. I am a college student in Hutchinson, Kansas. I made a bunch of friends in America. I’m really enjoying my staying here. First time I came to America, I was an exchange student, an’ (uh) I didn’ know any word in English at all. I didn’ know anything, an’ I was hilarious ’cause I would look at people, and they’d keep talking, look like cartoons. ’Cause I couldn’-- I-- I-- you jus’ can get-- Like in my language you do a lotta gesture, and (uh) here you don’t do as many, so… It jus’ sounds like… a cartoon thing that you can’t understand. So, I started learning-- I think for two months after I was here, with no contact with Portuguese, I started to, you know, put things in my head, an’ put things together, then….
