TRANSCRIPTION OF UNSCRIPTED SPEECH
I was born in Peru. I study micro-biology. I have one brother. Uh. I am 20 years old. Uh, the thing I miss… most about Peru is the food. Food here doesn’t have any taste. And… what I don’t like is that I’m not legal to drink here anymore. I went ah, to a Catholic school so I had to wear uniform to school everyday. Ah, to get here I had to get a Fulbright scholarship which covers uh, all my tuition until I graduate… or as long as I want to stay actually. Uh. I have a brother who wants—to—is probably coming here in a year and wants to study psychology and psychiatry maybe. In order to get to—from one place to another we have a lot of taxis and lot of buses. So we don’t—uh—we don’t have as many cars as people here. The official drinking age in Peru is eighteen years old. But since law is not really that… tight in there… as long as… you have money you ca—any—one—no matter th—the age can buy alcohol. Uh, Drugs, the same that are here, a lot cheaper… Eh, it’s the same that’s here.
