Furniture: Comparative Ratings of Furniture Systems

Overview

To summarize results of systems furniture, use a different table similiar to the comparative analysis table. The table will display the mandatory performance criteria, assign weights to each category, analyze each perfomrance and summarize the result by multiplying the weights with the performance ratings to arrive the summary of ratings.

The weight column will assign a scale of 1 to 5 to each criterion with 1 being the least important and 5 being the most important. Under the columns of each system, enter a scale of 1 to 5 to describe how each system satisfy the criterion, with1 being non satisfactory and 5 being the most satisfactory.

The Format

First row
Displays the headings: weights, names of each systems and summary rating of each system corresponding to each category.
First column
Displays the headings of the criteria.
Second column
Displays the requirements of the mandatory performance criteria.
Third column
Displays the weights apply to each criterion.
Columns four through six
Displays how each system satisfies the mandatory performance criteria by assigning a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being nonsatisfactory and 5 being the most satisfactory.
Columns seven through nine
Displays summaries of each system by multiplying weights with performance rating of each system. Those are the values assigned from column four through six.
Last row
Tabulates the overall ratings of each system by adding the last three columns from each category.
