The Macromolecule and Vaccine Stabilization Center is a unique and innovative center located within the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Kansas specializing in the stabilization of vaccines as well as protein and DNA based pharmaceuticals. Our approach focuses on molecular events associated with changes in the physical and chemical stability of proteins, DNA, macromolecular assemblies, virus like particles, viruses and bacterial cells that lead to loss of activity or function. Our laboratory offers a full range of studies to characterize physical and chemical stability including a BSL-3 facility and Mass spectroscopy laboratory with MALDI-TOF and Q-TOF instrumentation.
