The “Survival: A Guide for KU Freshmen” Web site was a class project created by students enrolled in the Spring 2004 Journalism 527: Online Journalism class. The class is taught by Professor Ann M. Brill, Ph.D. and Graduate Teaching Assistant Staci Wolfe. It is a journalism elective offered by the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at The University of Kansas.

This site was built to give students, especially incoming freshmen, a one-stop, go-to location for information regarding dorms, health, money, social life and transportation.
The class was divided into five groups with each group designing a mini-site. Each student contributed to the content and design of their mini-site, in addition to writing a personality profile.
