Welcome to the KU River Ecology webpage. This is our initial attempt to introduce you to the people, courses, and research projects associated with our program. Although the program is headed by Professor James (Jim) H. Thorp, the essence of the program are the ideas and broad range of people associated with it. While our emphasis is the ecology of rivers of the Great Plains, we also study a variety of aquatic ecosystems (cave springs to great rivers, wetlands to reservoirs) here in the United States and we collaborate with valued colleagues in other countries around the world.
Please feel free to browse our webpages and offer suggestions for their improvement.
